The word Arthritis is originated from Greek language which means Artho - bone, itis - inflammation. It is a group of different diseases related with bones and joints. It is the inflammation of one or several joints perticular issues from the causes other than injury. When the pain occurs in the joint and muscles without any inflammation, it is called Arthralgia and Myalgia.
Arthritis due to Anadhija causes (external causes) includes those due to infections, injuries, toxins and post-traumatic effects on joints. The other causes of chronic arthritis are due to Adhija vyadhi or stress related arthritis.

RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS :
A chronic systemic disease primarily of the joint, usually poly articular (pertaining in a joint), marked by inflammatory change in the synovial membranes, articular structures, by atrophy and rarefaction of the bones. Rheumatoid Arthritis affects the joint of young and middle aged people. It generally starts in small joints of fingers, toes and wrists in the cold season. The causes are unknown. One of the major factors known in the cause is autoimmunity.
It is associated with fever, weakness, can trigger by a physical or emotional stress lasting furlongs durations. When healing occurs it may lead to stiffness and deformities. Lack of calcium, synovial fluid also leads to arthritis.
OSTEO ARTHRITIS :
This is condition related to ageing of the joints. The causes could be primary or secondary. This chronic degeneration of joints in the middle and old age, afflicting those who are over weight, has a toxic diet, lack of exercise and stress.
Primary : The common joints affected are the weight bearing joints like knees, hips, lumber or cervical spine.
Secondary : The secondary Osteo - Arthritis occurs in any joint that might have sustained injury due to trauma or gout or inflammation some years ago which goes on to produce wear and tear changes.
CAUSES :
Exactly causes are not known, but there is evidence of immune over activity in the diseases. Abnormal immunoglobulin in the serum known as rheumatoid factor. The alteration in the immunoglobulin with which rheumatoid factor. Trauma, psychological, genetically, infection and injury with external.
SIGN AND SYMPTOMS :
Inflammation, pain, redness, tenderness, heat, stiffness. The joints get gradually swollen and tender. Structural deformity of the bone and joints in particular region is shiny.
COMPLICATIONS :
The disease spreads symmetrically up the limb involving larger joint. Onset is gradual and occasionally it is acute. Remission is common with a person of 2-3 months. Increasing stiffness and deformity may occur and may continue for a year.
